For the past few years .. I have been having a re-occuring nightmare. I don't really understand the meaning behind it .. and it is really starting to interfere with my sleep pattern.

The dream is short and sweet. I hear a low grumbled voice, talking but Im not able to understand whats being said. Suddenly a face comes through a wall of blood ( or what appears to be blood ). The face has similairities as my father .. but its not my father.

Does anyone have an idea what this could mean?

I suspect you have past issues with your father or a father-figure that you might want to discuss with a therapist, see if you can clear them up. Recurring dreams, to me, usually means something important in one's life where one is "stuck" and that needs to be addressed.
