I had a dream last night that really upset me, and I don't know what it's supposed to mean. I have an eating disorder, and in my dream one of my very very good friends was at my house, and she made something to eat. I ate it, and then I had to go to the bathroom. She thought I was purging and I told her I wasn't and she didn't believe me. Then she said "This is why I never want you over at my house."

I was really upset after this dream because she always believes me when I tell her I am telling the truth. And she has never ever said something so mean to me before. So in my dream she was not like herself at all. I am going crazy trying to figure out what it means.

Hi,
Your subconscious creates the dream to respond to a problem that happens in sleep. This dream woke you up probably because you needed to use the toilet or felt like it in your sleep. Unfortunately the subconscious is not very tactful and has no moral scrooples! It uses the quickest and easiest method to wake you up. that is the reason it used the phraze:[color=blue"This is why I never want you over at my house"[/color] as the waking element. However you know you worry about your eating disorder may upset some people.
You should take it as a waking dream and dont worry about it.

Hi,
If your dream did not wake you up how did you remember your dream? We can remember dreams only if it wakes us up. However we may not remember waking up! We might have a dream in the middle of the night that wakes us, go back to sleep wake up in the morning and remember the dream, however we might not remember waking up and going back to sleep.
The subconscious mind is incredibly complex. Dreams can only be understood if you watch a lot of people dream over along time. Even after studying dreams, mine and other peoples, I sometimes have problems determining whether something really happened or I dreamt it!
Perhaps in your case you were already awake when you heard your alarm clock?

Only the dreamer can be sure of what a dream means... but here's where I would begin thinking about this...

actually, I think you have begun to think about it... this friend of yours appears to be a friend, even though you have to verify at what times you are telling her the truth (as opposed to times you don't?) I think you are questioning HER telling you the truth, or appearing to accept YOUR disorder.

I would also look at your eating and using the bathroom and NOT purging. That sounds hopeful to me, if it is so...perhaps you are healing and if you can feel that "okay" feeling of eating and NOT purging, and keep that sense with you when you eat, then indeed healing process begins.
