I go through periods where I sleep like a baby, and then I have nights like tonight where I can't freakin sleep at all. I don't want to take anything besides my medication because I've been sick (sinus infection), but I really, really want to rest. I've tried a snack, hot tea, cocoa, relaxation... nothing helps. What is a gal to do??

The sinus meds don't help? I have trouble sleeping if my breathing/sinuses don't work well. You might try a simple antacid before bed (I use Maalox http://www.maaloxus.com/index.shtml?maxChewables) and see if that helps. I have asthma and apparently my sinuses drip, only when I'm laying down/asleep, and cause some acid that makes the sinuses worse, etc. so my breathing really takes a hit and I don't sleep well.

I didn't understand how it was all related but it works for me occasionally, even better than if I take an allergy or sinus med instead. I do swap my OTC's around so my body doesn't have problems with any one; sometimes take non-drowsy allergy, sometimes drowsy allergy, sometimes antacid, sometimes nothing, etc.

Sleep isn't static any more than any other medical problem; pay attention to what you think your body is telling you might help and try that, experiment; sometimes all I need is to go to the bathroom or get up and eat a banana or something light like that (toast or yogurt) and that will help.
