I was in a bomb shelter, there was rumbling like a earthquake, there were 3 people in the shelter including myself, they were laughing about something but I was the only crying, on the radio was talking about the failure to stop the ending of the world, them all of a sudden, the rumbling/earthquake stopped, when I opened the door, ( we were in a factory) saw light coming from the window, when I opened the window, there was a cool, and calming breeze, it was to bright out so I couldn't tell what it looked like outside, I look around and I see mile high shelves filled with a lifetime supplies, but then it got dark outside then I started to hear terrifying screams of people begging for mercy, then someone or something grabbed my throat, the man said "we have meat tonight"
then I woke up, looking around the room relieved that it was a dream. Does anyone understand this, I don't?

Have you been thinking about 2012 and the "end of the world" hypothesis lately? That's probably a logical explanation to why you dreamt this.
This was probably your imagination creating a possible scenario should the event occur. As for the darkness, maybe there was a real-life connection with being in the dark, perhaps being a bit frightened? Sometimes, the littlest occurences can become vivid and revisited once more in a dream. This is odd sounding, I know, but it's not impossible.. Frankly, the best thing to do though, if you are concerned about your dream, is to brush it off your shoulder and move on asap. ![]() Be well! |

Ardmore ...
Do you happen to play first person shooter / roll-playing games at all? Or do you watch any movies that are known as "film noir" or touch upon "dystopian themes" (i.e. society or civilization crumbles, the world as we know it falls into havoc, etc.)? Sometimes the sensory imput that we absorb during our daily "wakeful" lives can seep into our subconscious and as we fall asleep and enter the various stages of the sleep cycle, our brain attempts to sort through all of the info we've been exposed to throughout the previous day or days. It is almost akin to conducting a defragmentation of your computer's hard drive. Different bits of info are collated and placed in specific areas in which to be accessed at a later time. Your brain and CNS do the same thing. Hence, weird dreams. You also said, "then someone or something grabbed my throat, the man said 'We have meat tonight.' " Per chance, were you in your dream dressed up as a package of hot dogs or some other deli meat combo? Hence, the "We have meat tonight" comment from the unseen entity or person. Just kidding with you as I wanted to add some humour to ease your apprehension a bit. OK? ![]() Also, you need not worry yourself over the whole 2012 A.D. mumbo jumbo. Not gonna happen. Nada. People are hyping this just like they hyped the whole year 2000 or Y2K catastrophe, and NOTHING happened. From the Wikipedia entry on the "2012 Phenomenon": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon "Scholars from various disciplines have dismissed the idea of catastrophe in 2012. Mainstream Mayanist scholars state that predictions of impending doom are not found in any of the existing classic Maya accounts, and that the idea that the Long Count calendar "ends" in 2012 misrepresents Maya history. The modern Maya do not consider the date significant, and the classical sources on the subject are scarce and contradictory, suggesting that there was little if any universal agreement among them about what, if anything, the date might mean. Additionally, astronomers and other scientists have rejected the apocalyptic forecasts as pseudoscience, stating that the anticipated events are contradicted by simple astronomical observations. NASA has compared fears about 2012 with those about the approaching millennium in the late 1990s, suggesting that an adequate analysis should preclude fears of disaster. None of the proposed alignments or formulas have been accepted by mainstream scholarship." Also, sometimes medications or stressors in our lives can affect our dreams in that our body chemistry / hormones / etc. may undergo a shift in which our dreams may become distorted or our level or frequency of dreaming may go into high gear. In some individuals, even eating a meal before bedtime can cause odd dreams to occur as the digestive system has to expend energy in breaking down the food matter, and in doing so, is robbing the brain of the energy it would use in going into "sleep mode" (just like your computer does). Don't worry yourself too much over the content of your dreams. There are so many different interpretations for what the dream you had could or could not mean. Look more at what is going on in your life presently and try to determine if there are any unresolved issues that you aren't dealing with, or may indeed be dealing with, but are becoming more and more weary in having to sort them out. OK then, gonna scoot here. Take care, vertebrae ![]()
