It's early in the morning right now (1:27 am), I've only begotten a couple hours of sleep, and I have to go to work in a few hours. Here's my dream:

(This two part dream is set in third person)

I'm in a forest that reminds me of a forest that I have been to but is slightly different. The difference is that there is a large tree that is easy to climb onto and splits into three main branches. The season is fall in the dream and the area is filled with orange, brown, and gold colored leaves. The sky is blue and is sunny out. It's a very picturesque sight to see. Then I see me. I'm sitting down with my legs stretched out in front of it and talking to the tree while a little girl (I can't remember what she looks like now) walks up beside me and asks why I'm talking to a tree. I explain that it sometimes feels good to say things out loud. I continue on to say that the tree is a living and breathing thing, similar to us. Once that scene is done, I immediately see myself laying down on top of the tree with my back to one of the three branches. An orange butterfly lands on me. I kiss it and it flies away.

I have a tendency to add on to my dreams when I try to remember dream but this is what I know for certain especially since it's so recent. I have a feeling that the girl smiled when I explained why I talked to the tree and the butterfly returned with more like itself but I'm not sure if those things happened. This is a very unusual dream for me since I don't normally remember my dreams or if I do, the dreams are of fighting at school (I always win flawlessly) or of a longing to meet a significant other.

What does all this mean?

I recall the color orange to be a color to watch out for as well as butter flies. I happen to like nature and my dream reminds me of the time when I went to the nearby woods (which was also in fall and had plenty leaves scattered around). It isn't the first time I've seen these woods in a dream but it has been at least a year since I've been there in real life or seen it in a dream. I never saw that tree in real life or any butterflies for that matter. I remember thinking in mid dream for a few seconds that I was surprised there were no ants or displeasureable insects crawling on it.

Forest
* To dream that you are in or walking through the forest signifies a transitional phase. Follow your instincts. Alternatively, it indicates that you want to escape to a simpler way of life. You are feeling weighed down by the demands of your life.
* To dream that you are lost in a forest indicates that you are searching through your unconscious for a better understanding of yourself.
* To dream of a forest fire indicates that transformation and regeneration is only possible through some hardships. Alternatively, it suggests that your anger is out of control; it is affecting those around you.

You may be experiencing a transformation into a new way of thinking. Or you may be undergoing a transitional phase. Alternatively, the butterfly is symbolic of longevity. Also consider the term "social butterfly" to describe someone who is popular and outgoing. Does this describe you? Perhaps you need to be more outgoing.
