Haven't been able to sleep in days...I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 7 years ago, which they put me on meds...it was kind of working for a while, till i got hook up on the meds,i ended up in detox, then rehab.twice...i can never fall asleep at night,is been like this ever since..I take over the counter medication for as long as i can remember, doesn't really work, it doesnt matter how tired i am i seem to have a hard time sleeping..Is horrible, not to be able to sleep for more than 4 hours, and im ok with it, because i have all this energy, that is amazing, but exhausting..dont have any medical insurance ,so therefore can't see a shrink..but i do need to talk to people i can relate 2....

We are here for you at PC! I am bipolar too and I know sleep is a major concern! I also ended up abusing my meds for a while so there are sleep meds/aids that I just can't take without risking a relapse. However I do take an antidepressant and 2 mood stabilizers (anti seizure). Sleep is hard because we build up a tolerance to meds over time. When I came off Seroquel a few years ago it took me almost seven months to learn to sleep on my own. Its a long process but I feel so much better being able to sleep by myself. It sounds like you are a little manic and don't require that much sleep. Just look out for that sleep-deprivation crash.

So talk to us, we're here to help!
