I had a dream this morning; don't remember anything really except the end, where I was at some kind of party, and I noticed a man come in and was suspicious of him right away. He flung open his coat, where he had a gun, and started firing. Without any hesitation I shot him several times -- evidently I had a gun also -- shot him in the back. He turned around and, I think, was firing at me, but I did not get hit. I must have pumped 15 or 20 shots into him all told.

Now what does this mean? Besides that there is someone else inside of me that does all these strange things!!!

Ooooh, cool dream, pachy, thanks for sharing it. If it were my dream I'd be thinking in terms of words instead of bullets; sarcasm and trying to keep myself and what I think or believe safe and the way I want it. The party seems like society, being out here with everyone else. Of course you did not get hit you're a better shot; wittier, more intelligent, etc.

If it were my dream I would also think about what I had been recently thinking about that might have been scaring me and that I wanted to "shoot down"?

Hey, pachyderm, not sure we've met before. Perna's got a great working interpretation of your dream! How does it feel for you?

Your dream reminds me of one I had several years ago while I was working with a dream group & a Jungian therapist. Good timing for a change. In my dream, I killed a man & buried him under the floorboards of my home.

My dream group eyed me a bit cautiously when I told them, but my T nearly fell out of his chair laughing. "I knew you were mad at your animus," he finally got out, "but I didn't know you were mad enough to kill him!"

I had been having issues with my masculine self--so much so that killing wasn't enough. I needed the remains underfoot so I could trample it down into the crap it was.

Oh, roadrunner, love your "rejection" of your masculine self. I'm glad you buried him under the floorboards instead of just sweeping him under the rug

I was in an online dream group with Richard Wilkerson http://dreamtalk.hypermart.net/membe...wilkerson.html and his "Electric Dreams Community" for a year or so way back in the 1990s and loved it.

Seems to me it has a more specific connection to something I have been reading or thinking about, not some generalized meaning. Sensitized to terrorists or something. The thing that surprised me in the dream was how ready I was to blast this man (he had already opened fire) and how unhesitatingly I did it. I think all my bullets hit him (good shot), but he did not die immediately. I felt no remorse, either.

BTW, the news today has another apparent Virginia Tech shooting. But that was after my dream!

I use to do a lot of dreaming about "spies" and gangsters :-) I did dream about an army once, but it was in the woods kind of like Robin Hood. I read somewhere that dreaming about police, army, other groups like that had to do with safety and "authority" issues as in, "who's in charge" and I do have trouble with worrying related to that.
