JustWannaDisappear's thread about being asleep but awake at the same time made me want to ask a similar question. I have this problem too, but it happens kind of differently. This has happened to me a couple of time over the last month, and it's really weird. Sometimes in the evening (this just usually happens to be around 5 or 6 o'clock) I get really really depressed, and I don't know what to do. I want to die. Idont want to have to deal with anything, so I take a "nap". The weird thing is, when this happens, I never completely go to sleep. It's like I'm in a daze. I'm aware that I'm not completely asleep, and this continues for about 20 minutes, then I "wake up". Sometimes people wake me up. My dad came in the other day while I was "asleep", I told him I wasn't alseep, he said yes I was but I know I never fell asleep. It's the worst feeling in the world for somebody to wake me up from this, I feel so shaken up and want them to go away, and I feel so miserable and much worse than before I "fell asleep." One time my friend woke me up and I was still kind of half alseep and I started crying. When my dad woke me up, I kind of forced myself to get up. It's like I'm not fully awake yet. And the time I woke up on my own, I had something like a mini panic attack or something. It was scary, I started shaking and hyperventilating and my heart was beating really fast, this only lasted for like 20 seconds but it was no fun. And what else is weird, when I wake up from these little episodes, I could swear I've been like that for hours. And I hardly believe it's only been 20 minutes. It's the worst feeling in the world... And then I kind of forget what happened. The first time it happened, I completely forgot about it until that night. This is so strange, can anyone tell me what is wrong???

Are you on any medicines or have you changed your day any, that it starts about the same time? I know I have meds I'm supposed to take at certain times and if I change the time or miss them different things can happen? What are you doing right before? Sometimes I'll catch myself in odd states if I have been reading and something I've read has sparked a thought I am not aware of. I would discuss it with your therapist? That and maybe get a good physical from your doctor, have hormone and other things checked to make sure there isn't some medical problem.
