I used to have a cat. This cat was male and he would sometimes get lost for a week or two during mating season.

As he was part of my life, he had gone so far that he had intruded my dreams. Though the cat was sometimes missing for a week, he`d still be there in my dreams as part of my usual life.

One time he was missing for an entire month. He came back as a husk of his former self. I would, ofcourse nourish him and he soon became fatter than ever.

However I`m afraid that this may not have helped him survive his last dissapearance; he`s been gone so far I can`t remember anymore. It`s been atleast a year. Yet sometimes he appears in my dreams. There was one specific dream where he played a huge part. He`d return back home, and cheerful as I was, I would take care of him. Then I`d discover that there was a very look-a-like cat who also appeared outside my door. At first I probably did not even notice that there were two cats. Before I knew it, there were copies of him everywhere; inside my house and even outside. What was worse even was that every copy would be slightly different from the original, who was now nowhere to be found. The difference was mainly in facial structure, for example some would have a slightly bigger or deformed nose.

Could anyone shed some light on these dreams? I would be most grateful if someone could give me an explanation for such bizarre disturbances.

i have had similar dreams like yours, when my ferrets were stolen quite a while ago. I felt extremely guilty even though it wasn't my fault. i would see closely related replicas of them in the shadowy parts of my dreams. My dreams were usually nightmares and I think it was my guilt telling me to be more careful in the future. Hope this helps :P
