3 days ago I have strong hallucinations (herring, and seeing things that don't exists), I was obsessed someone is trying to kill me. When I go to hospital doctor don't ask me any question but said it is schizophrenia. But I Told him it's because I haven't sleep for 5 days - but he wasn't listening to me. I was transported to psychiatric ward. After 1 night my family take me on demand. Now everything is back to normal when I got some sleep.

I'm sure it was sleep deprivation and the doctor give me the wrong diagnosis just to get rid of me, but nobody want to listen to me. What can I do now? It's in my records!

Hi. Any prior events with the hallucinations or other things going on with you yota? Is this the first time you've seen a doctor for anything like this?

May I ask why you were awake for 5 days?

This seems to be your first post so hello yota and welcome to PsychCentral.

I have problem with my stomach - pain that big that i can't sleep. Shouldn't doctor diagnose sleep deprivation instead of making me crazy?

Hi yota glad you answered. How are you? Perhaps you should speak to him again and ask about all your concerns in one meeting. He'll try to help but he needs every bit of help you can give him. Tell him all you can. That's the most important thing.

Did you mention your stomach?

Sometimes too much coffee can help create stomach ulcers. I had one when I ate some things too much. Very very painful and I couldn't sleep. A doctor gave me some medicine for that. An ulcer is a very common thing to happen. Stress, no sleep, coffee are some causes of ulcers. Spicy food is another cause sometimes when you add coffee and no sleep.

Ask about ulcers. He will be able to tell. Almost always easy to treat.
Thanks for this!

When the doctor heard that I have he don't want to listen to me any more - he diagnose schizofrenia but I'm perfectly sure it was lack of sleep. He didn't ask anything more because why talk to a crazy man?

Just in case I'm gonna do EEG, RMI to exlude brain tumor. I've done some research and schizophrenia can be mistaken by brain tumor.

It pains in some places in my brain but it pain like a burn and tingles.

When I Was in psychiatric ward I knew who I am, but I have big problems of talking and thinking, like in my brain there was a wall.

What do you think?

Hi Yota. It can't hurt to continue with any medication or treatment they have given you. Your doctor probably wants to see you again soon to see how you're doing. Am I right? Then it will be a good time to ask about the pains. The tests you mentioned are probably a good idea just to make sure. Anything like this takes some time to figure out. For now try not to worry too much. And maybe not so much coffee if you drink a lot of it.

No, he don't show any interest. I'm from Poland and medical care (from insurance that government is taking from my salary!) here is poor. So today I'm going to private doctor (psychiatric first) to see what he's gonna say.

Off top. When I was 16 I've got smallpox. I wake up in the middle of the night with the sleep paralysis. So I can't move but my eyes was open - I saw my room. Someone was standing over me and said that I'm gonna die by brain tumor (he said the exact age but I don't remember). Then in my brain appeared very strong pain (like in one point in my brain - like burning) and I wake up. I always laughed about that, but now I'm not :-/
