Recurring dream for the past 3 weeks that's been scaring me.
Each time I start my dream with a broken down car on the side of the road. I am female, but look nothing like myself. I start walking down the side of the road with two men I've never seen in real life before, but in my dream they're supposed to be my friends. In my dream I feel scared and lost. I feel as though my life is going to be ending soon. As I begin to walk toward some buildings I feel terror and begin to run with no known trigger. As I start to run, one of the men grab my from behind and start to drag a blade across my throat. I feel like I'm going to die but as his hand lowers from my throat I only see a shallow cut, but at the point I'm no longer able to speak in my dream, only able to get out a forced whisper. After he lowers his hand he lets me go and I run to a store where I find 2 detectives. Appearently, these detectives were hired to find me by a father my dream person has. (I grew up without a father.) But as I see the detectives I'm attempting to tell them my name. I'm finally able to force out a whisper of "I'm 'Katy' " with a last name I can't remember. I can't understand why I say my name is katy since my name is not katy. As soon as they recognize I am the missing person they've been looking for I wake up with a terrified feeling in my stomach.
Any idea why I could be having this crazy dream?
