Hello all!
I have been having a recurring theme in my dreams for some time now. I am engaged to the man of my dreams and we have been together for about 2 1/2 years. He has been my only sexual partner and in some ways I'm glad and in some ways I'm not since I haven't been his only. For a long time, I have been having dreams about having sex with other men. They aren't "wet" dreams and I don't wake up aroused or anything like that. Sometimes I know the man, sometimes I don't, and occasionally the man is a celebrity (the most reason has been Alexander Skarsgard). In the dreams, at some point or another or throughout the whole thing I am aware that I am cheating. Sometimes I am guilty about it and sometimes I'm not, but I always do it regardless. Also, sometimes I seem to be emotionally invested in the person and other times it seems to solely be about sex. I feel horrible about myself when I wake up in the morning and I have no idea how to make them go away. Does anyone have any clue what my dreams are trying to tell me??? |

The only time a dream is about the sex that is shown in it is when the dream is wet. Otherwise, this is simply an expression of a need for connection with someone else. I think the first thing yu need to realize is that dreams are not something you should feel ashamed of, and cheating in dreams is something that isn't really possible (I could add "unless you're lucid and sleeping with someone you know in the waking world", but that is for a whole other conversation that would have to be open to debating).
Really I think you've already touched on what the dream means. You are aware that your fiance has been with more women in the past and that he is your only...experience. So you feel like to be able to meet his needs, you need to have experience with more than just him. This isn't even a physical thing...this can be simply a social or emotional experience, too. The men you are portraying may be the personification of traits you wish to see in yourself, and the sex is simply the way your brain goes about saying "I want these traits inside me" (this is more related to the celebrities and the people you know in the dream).
