Okay so I keep having the same dream about 10 times a month for that past 5 years or so and not too sure what it means. Okay so here's the situation,

Sometimes I'll be in my car just driving away and there's three people who are trying to kidnap me. I can't see them or anything but I just know it's 3 people. but I will be driving and my car will just start to slow down and they will be very close to me, then my car just takes off and goes down the road and this process just keeps repeating and repeating over. thats as far as this dream goes.

Other time I'll be in some apartment complex(never seen it in real life) and I'll be walking around and I can see their shadows?..I think thats the word for it...and I know from that it's two guys and a girl. and they catch me there but I still can never see them and usually wake up right after they catch me and that's as far as it gets.

THere's some conflict you've supposedly gotten through. It could be something interpersonal, something emotional, or something mental (as in a mental health issue that you thought you had moved past). It's a negative feeling, hence the darkness imagery with the shadows and the fact that these three people are antagonists in the scenes. Your driving away signifies that you are believing you're moving past it. The apartment complex it twofold - first it represents your daily life (as in like it's home), and second it could represent your body or your psyche. Either way, the theme is that this antagonist is still out there and you haven't conquered it yet.

Whatever the issue is, it also has the trait of enveloping your life. It removes you from your regular life, as shown in the motive of kidnapping. This could be something like reclusing away with depression, forcing everyone away and burning bridges with interpersonal conflicts, or any way that it might cause you to remove yourself from your life and loved ones.

What if it was about a person you don't know?

Then the person is a personification of a part of your psyche, and you base it on what the person was like in the dream. This includes characters of the opposite gender.
