I have a sleep problem and will see an on-call p-doc for it tomorrow. I was going to let him decide what is better for me: a small dose of Elavil or a small dose of Seroquel. I thought that both have been effective. Now I recall that when I was taking small doses of Seroquel, I was also taking Tramadol for pain. Now I am no longer sure that Seroquel was the thing that made me sleep so soundly. Could it have been Tramadol? Not that I would ask for Tramadol, obviously; I just want to determine if Seroquel was the thing that did the trick, or not.

I never before or after slept SO deeply. It was almost frightening to fall asleep because it felt as if I would never wake up. But I woke up, so that was OK. I am just wondering what substance it was that cause such DEEP, DEEP SLEEP.

I was taking tramadol for pain and yes, it made me tired, but eventually it wore off once my body got used to it. I did take seroquel for a short time and it zonked me SO badly, I had to stop taking it.

Tramadol used to make me sleepy, but I'd only stay asleep until the medication wore off. Now that I'm more "used" to the effects & it isn't making me itchy anymore, I just get hypomanic. So I suppose it works different for everyone!
