Another looooooong and very linear sort of dream (though this one is fragmented in my memory because I was woken before I was meant to be).

So, I remember in the early parts of the dream, I'm running around on a road that is really small, distance wise, but seems to encompass a lot of the town. So it's just this stretch with a dip in between? Like a V shaped road? And I met my friends M and S on this road, and I think there was talk of coffee.

There is a large house I'm working in with M and S, where three men, too, work in the kitchens. Two are seemingly gay, one is relatively large, round and cuddly. They work in the kitchens and whatnot, and we are friends with them. I don't think we work there permanently; maybe we were just hired help for the day?

We then head to watch a movie in the town club (this town is now expanding and beginning to look like my hometown), but the friends leave after a point. I'm sitting at the back, watching the movie, until I realise that my ex and his sister, sister-in-law, and other family folks are seated in the front. They turned around to take note of me once, but then just turned way. The ex eventually gets up up and comes to me with the pretext of getting me to come back with him. It was Awkward; like he kept telling me it's okay, it's fine to join them, but I kept saying nonono, not wanting to invade their space, and feeling bad that he wasn't sitting with his family.

The plan was to go to the large house where I had worked after the movie. On the way in, I see the ex's sister's hair, all shiny, and she's wearing a beautiful yellow sari; I saw his sister in law further inside, wearing black and red, really elegant. There is no envy, though retrospectively there seems like there SHOULD have been. It's more a sort of observation. I went into the kitchen to talk to my friends, the three men, where I was more comfortable; the ex came to get me to come back out, and ... I think there was some awkwardness in this interaction too, possibly because he was, in the dream, the higher class type person conversing with "the help".

We are then attacked while inside this house. People come running out; we formed a sort of line of defense (I'm still not sure I'm here, actually, it's like I'm observing), like literally a line of people holding hands, and eventually people just kept blasting us out of the way.

Here the dream changes. It kind of becomes this confusing conglomeration of the Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and some Enid Blyton. The guy whose house we were in became the "evil" guy. The ex and his family all merged into the "royal" folk - I didn't... exist, per se, I was just there, feeling constantly scared about the battle raging on the other side of the campus. And everyone around me was clear that we needed to save the royal folk, because they were more important. We spent a lot of time by the white steps where we kept hiding.

Also now the scene has changed to the campus where I grew up. We're at the white steps, which are actually white steps, and over the next half hour or so in the dream, the setting keeps shrinking from a grandiose version of the campus, to that which really exists.

There were two kids who were hiding in the run down castle on the other side of the road; a little brother, older, but not much wiser, sister, who had acquired an affliction of the skin on her face, so her face actually was beginning to look like someone had inverted a brown paper bag over it and cut holes in for eyes.

We kept screaming at them to go inside but they didn't, and they were coming down with a bed... which was, I think, later, it turned out to be the bed that the kid had rubbed pink ointment, which he got from the Room of Requirement, to tell it to "fly away home" (which is from Enid Blyton's Far Away Tree).

At this point the royalty all decided to leave and fight. It appears there is some sort of bus that can fly and they can use it, against the dragon that the evil guy is flying around on.

I am left behind, or I stay behind almost out of fear; I am not actually there, so much as I seem to connect to this character called Beowulf or Branwyn, who is a old man, blind, who settled into the ditch near the white steps and is essentially waiting, hoping the children on the other side won't be noticed. At some point, a dog comes and licks his ear; it's a huge whitish grey dog called Shadow, who had a role to play, but I forget what it is; he tells Beowulf he would be back and everything would be okay.

I woke up at this point.

>_> thoughts?
