I had a dream where there were giant insects in my bedroom. They looked like flies or moths but behaved more like cockroaches. They were about a foot long and there were about a dozen of them. I saw them walking on the floor around and under my bed. I never saw them on the walls or ceiling and I never saw them fly. They waddled when they walked, like bees.

They were a drab colour, dark brown or grey, but they had densely packed, circular, bright red-orange spots about half an inch across. The first time I saw the insects, the spots were on the wings. The second time the spots had moved to the thorax. And the third time the spots were on the head.

I was frightened and repulsed by these insects and didn’t want to touch them. I was terrified they might crawl up my leg. I ran away and came back with some kind of spray, which didn’t seem to be very effective. I might have stepped on them but I didn’t want to touch them with my bare feet and I didn’t want their crushed bodies on my carpet. My wife didn’t know what to do with them either, but she wasn’t as scared as me. And the whole time, a sane part of my brain was saying, “Insects don’t get this big.”

And then they were gone. At first I thought they were hiding, but we did a thorough search and there was nowhere for something that big to hide. But we did find some dirty nooks and corners that needed cleaning. And that’s the end of the dream.

I would imagine that the bugs might be a metaphor for things that bug you in real life. Are there any annoyances or issues in your life recently that you are trying to solve.

That you were scared or didn't want to deal with them might signify the same about your waking issues. The bright spots might indicate positives or hope for solving the problems. An online dream dictionary can help you unravel what the colors mean. Red can mean a few different things if I remember correctly including anger or energy.

I now think that these insects are a fusion of flies, moths and neighbours cats - all the unwanted wildlife in my house. My wife keeps opening doors and windows because it is hot here.

Oh you know the first computer bug was a real bug! Is your work life bleeding too much into your home life?

Unwanted issues entering your life and they keep bugging you! Good housekeeping seems to control them. Red spots on head of bug indicates where you are comming from about these bugs.

Tell me about the red spots. I haven't figured them out.

The red spots may indicate from what part of your body you are sensitive about, where your feelings are comming from. Feelings you may be unconfortable around.
Thanks for this!
