Is it possible for sleeping disorders to be genetic?
I have always had on the little side of sleep, all my life. Sometimes I'll just stay up 40 hours, then go to sleep. (I have done, do, drugs. BUT, like I said, this has been all my life, since I can remember). I honestly do not mind it, I enjoy the night time, and I get a lot of house work done, but I realize it can be unhealthy.

My dad has had some sleeping disorders before. From insomnia when he was younger, to having sleep paralysis.
Did I get it from him?

Most sleeping habits are learned or imprinted. Thus you picked them up while growing up. You can choose to modify them when ever you like.

first i found that when i quit using i went from not sleeping at all to a few hour a night.i know exactly why i don't sleep and and it was a learned behavior going all the way back to when i was 6.nobody in my family has trouble sleeping.genetics can lead to a number of different things but i have never heard it was genetic and i have seen sleep specialists.
