Lately I've been experiencing a lot of flashbacks, mostly in dreams, and these flashbacks in the dreams are things that didn't necessarily happen but contain people and twisted versions of events that did happen. As I said, nine of these flashbacks are traumatic, it's mostly random scenes from long ago, and I was wondering what might have caused this? If it is normal?

If you are seeing a Professional Therapist, then therapy can cause this. Healing from past trauma often has this. It is normal.

Thunder Bow is correct. The anxiety and panic I have in my dreams dreams have become less traumatic and less associated with actual things that happened to me since starting therapy. I am haunted by ghosts lately instead. Like there is more buried trauma I haven't worked through in my head. Memories that have been suppressed, I usually forget them soon after I remember them because they are so painful to revisit.
