Why is it that I cannot physically sleep during the night but I can sleep fine in the day time.. If I don't sleep at night I try staying awake all day but then the next night I still can't sleep.. But come morning I can sleep fine and have a nap.. I know I have bad dreams of the abuse I went through and I am terrified to sleep, but that can't stop me sleeping surely??

Yes, I do think a fear of falling asleep could cause sleep problems. Are you seeing a mental-health professional? I think this topic needs to be discussed with one. In the meantime, you might try something for sleep from over the counter, listening to anti-anxiety tapes, drinking milk, and even looking on the Internet for other non-medical ways to encourage sleeping.....

Everyone has different circadian rythyms or biological clocks that dictate our rythyms. Some's make them sleepy during the day, some at night. We are all on a 24 hour cycle so does it matter when you sleep as long as you sleep during those 24 hours? There are work from home opportunities. I've found them.
