I sometimes dream of killing a person.. this dream started a year or so ago, and the person I was killing was always someone I never knew, the past 4 months or so the person in the dream is always someone who had annoyed me recently. In the dream I'm standing above this person and pointing a gun to them, always a gun, always standing above them, the person is always grabbing at me, always crying, always begging me to leave them, and not to hurt them..
The dream always ends after I've pulled the trigger and they've dropped to the floor.. in the dream I'm never bothered at all by the crying and the begging, I always pull the trigger no matter what.
Once I'm awake I struggle to get back to sleep, I hear the crying and the begging again right as I'm about to fall asleep.
I have voices that talk occasionally to me, and they often make me imagine killing people while I'm awake, but I wanted opinions on the dream, I just thought this could perhaps help explain the dream at all?

Hello and welcome! We do have a couple of people who interpret dreams, but they aren't always around--so hang on.

I suggest you also talk to a doctor about your symptoms--especially the part about hearing voices. Okay? I think that's very important.

This is a dream about having Control. You point the gun at the victim and shoot him because that is the only way to show that you have control over him. Having Untimate Control is very important to you, and blinds your Heart!
Thanks for this!

I do plan on seeing a doctor about it, I'm kind of holding out until I've finished my exams (2 months to go! )

I'm not a therapist, so my area of expertise is myself and not anyone else. Nonetheless I could say how I would interpret a dream like this. My therapist is Jungian, so we often look at people in the dream as parts of ourselves. This crying, begging victim could be a part of yourself that you aren't acknowledging. He could represent certain feelings, capacities (creative capacities, emotional intuitions), etc. It would be interesting if you could say more about the people who annoy you and what annoys you about them. It is likely that some part of you annoys you in the same way.

Are you aware of being angry when you kill the victim? Any thoughts of revenge? It's not unusual that a person feels like they are so angry they want to kill someone.

But also the killing might not be done out of anger---killing the victim is a way of silencing them, preventing them from making their feelings and ideas heard. So look at what in your own latent abilities and feelings you are silencing and/or not acknowledging.

The people that annoy me are normally the same couple of people, they've done something like upset or hurt someone I care for usually.. the voices I hear usually tell me to hurt people, and when ever I try to argue they get angry at me and shout until I have a really bad headache.. I wasn't sure if this had anything to do with it? could it be the voices in my head trying to punish me for not hurting people when they tell me to..?

I agree with Thunder Bow. Seek medical help. As far as interpreting your dream, it's not surprising that you are dealing with some of the same issues when you dream as you deal with when awake, but saying more than that is way beyond my expertise.
