I’ve had the same dream last night that I also had a few days ago. I’m in a prison or a work camp, where I’m being chained to the walls in a small room that is filled with water. The water levels go up and down..everytime I’m close to drowning the water level goes down again and then back up. There is a speaker who is saying something like “ now let’s try more..and more..” He speaks in a very neutral tone. I can still hear him underwater. In both dreams before I drown, I’m thinking about a guy that I met there and the good times we had together. I woke up each time while I was drowning. I know that water usually represents emotions so drowning might stand for being overpowered by emotions. I'm just hoping I won't have this dream again anytime soon.

You may feel trapped and immersed in a real life situation. You may feel pressured as well. Don't push yourself to hard, by saying to yourself "now lets try more..and more". Take the time to get a breath of fresh air once and a while.
Thanks for this!

I like Thunder Bow's interpretation. Do you push yourself to take on more and more? I notice it's a "work camp."

Thank you very much Thunder Bow– that is an interesting interpretation and I would have never come up with it.

Mike1127, I’m not pushing myself in my day to day life. I'm homebound right now and still trying to find help. I would love to do be capable of doing more. There seem to be more and more things that affect me in negative ways though, so maybe that's what it stands for.

Thank you both for your replies.

You are welcome, chocmouse.

Event if you aren't actively pushing yourself, do thoughts sometimes arise along the lines, "I would love to be able to do such-and-such"? If you feel ill (are you homebound because you are ill?) thoughts like that could feel oppressive.

Or perhaps that's not the right way to look at it.

It might be simpler to say that you feel you are drowning in the struggles of your day-to-day existence.

Yes, my thoughts are very close to how you described them. I would love to have part of my old life back and I will always think that I'm not doing enough to get better. I do have many dreams where I drown and I think you are right that I am drowning with my daily problems. Today I got to dream of being up in the sky though..it was a welcomed change

"Not doing enough to get better" is what your dream is all about. Once again, don't under estimate your efforts. I think you are making progress.
