I have experienced once. But only once ,Im also pretty wierd that why it dosent happen again. At about one year ago ,in the middle night,1 AM maybe. There was no omen when i woke up,i just felt a strong sense of fear flocking in my mind,i dont know why ,i tried to control it ,But actually i failed,And i began to shake,The speed of heartbeat is increase pretty fast.A strong feeling just came to my mind.I was dying, especailly when it reached the peak(just like orgasm actually). But after that point ,i felt a little bit better,my breath seemed not as rapid as beginning. After this panic attack ,i felt high level of awakeness, and couldnt sleep until about 3 AM.Thats the whole process of this experience.Dose anyone who have the same experience?im just curious about that,By the way,it seems that there is no stressor for me at that day,so my assumptive explaining for that is maybe something imbalance for physiology caused that.

Yep, happens to me quite a bit, I feel it's especially when I'm under more stress in my life than usual (particularly), but I'm not sure if it happens cause of stress alone, or because my sleep schedule isn't so great..

I also feel it's just my mind/body's way of waking me up when I need to change my position on the bed, or if I'm hungry, or have to go to the bathroom etc, I'll wake up with a panic attack...

it's not really a thing to be worried about though it's unpleasant.

This was probably more a dream than and actual panic attack.

like peachmist i get it a lot, most nights in fact, i too put it down to my mind telling me it's time to turn over or that i have slipped down flat. what makes it worse my arms spasm at the same time so it takes an hour before i can reposition myself. i don't mind it because it proves i am still alive as my biggest fear is having an asthma attack in my sleep and not being able to administer my meds!

If you have a big worry on your mind before going to bed you may have intense dreams or nightmares and can cause anxiety in your sleep. And when you wake up from an intense dream you can be anxiety-riddled.

Happened to me when I took a trip to London. I was going to rent a car the next day and I really didn't feel that I would be able to drive on the left side of the road and woke up with a bad anxiety attack that morning: chest pain, shortness of breath, sweating.
