I used to be a competitive swimmer so I don't know if the dreams are related but I used to swim competitively for quite a few years before suddenly giving it up. This is my second swimming dream this week. I actually dreamt of my coach whom I haven't seen for at least 6 or 7 years now. I was back in the same pool I used to swim at and my coach was there. It was like I had just returned to swimming and we were doing sprints. Somehow my body just felt slow and when I dived in, it took forever for me to get back up to the surface. I kept kicking and swimming as hard as I could, but it took a huge effort to swim. When I finally finished the lap, my coach just looked so disappointed. I came in 5th. It was like I couldn't swim fast enough anymore. Not surprising since I haven't been swimming in years... I don't know why but just knowing that I had disappointed my coach was a little unsettling for me. It was just a dream but I am still trying to understand it. I've been asking myself if my subconscious is telling me to go back and swim or if I had felt that I disappointed my coach by just giving up like that years ago. I mean I haven't kept in contact with my coach and I have no idea why this is suddenly coming up. Just trying to understand this dream, if anyone would like to help, that'd be great.

it may have nothing to do with swimming at all. swimming is just the vehicle being used to get the message thru since it once was a big part of your life. I think the overall message is about disappointing someone important to you in your life. do you feel like you have done that recently? that you are not achieving/accomplishing something something you should have by now and feel that someone in your life is disappointed in you, maybe even yourself. you feel like you should have progressed further than you have by now? any way, that is what I get from it......

You Fear that your are out of shape and others may be disappointed by your performance. Start by being physically active again, with out any kind of competition involved.
