I've tried massage, melatonin, calcium and magnesium, Ignatia Arnica, excercise, nothing.
With harder drugs like dyphenhydramine, Restoril, Zyprexa and Clonopin I manage 4 hours a night. My head feels like a block of cement. What is wrong with me?

have u been studied for a cpap,. u may have daytime somnolence also but only a neurologist or sleep doc could tell that. sometimes the fix isnt meds; a cpap machine can work wonders.

Same here. I am going to a neurologist in the next couple weeks, having a scan of my head too.

I also have really bad headaches too.

Tell your general practitioner first, start there. I have Lunesta right now for sleeping and so far it works. I only wake once a night, take another one and then sleep the rest of the way.

it is temporary for now until they figure out whats with the headaches too.

I don't know what is wrong, but I can give you my deepest sympathy. I'm going through the same thing. It can be just awful.

In my case, it seems to be related to getting older. I've heard about this problem from lots of other people over age 50. For someone younger, I would consider that the quality of the night can have a lot to do with the quality of the day that preceded the night. Two very important things are to get enough activity and enough meaningful interaction with other people.

Do you have anxiety issues?

As off this writing I was able to get two hours of sleep last night. I downloaded some bineural beat hypnosis tapes to listen to to see if they work.
Thanks for this!

I was having the same problems sleeping but at the moment I have been partly "cured", firstly I am using a CPAP machine for sleep apnea, I close down my computer at least an hour before going to bed, I take a restavit tablet most nights and finally when I do go to bed I listen to a relaxation mp4 recording before I sleep. All this does help me anyway.
