Hello. I have some issues and I don't know why. I sleep too much and mess up my sleep schedule. When I finally get up, I don't want to get up and I feel like I can't. The worse is I have absolutely no motivation at all, I can go to the gym and go outside, but I won't. I still have some enjoyment from playing games and such. I even want to go out with friends, and do things, but I can't bring myself to do it. I don't know what is wrong, or if I am trying to make an excuse.I'm 14 years old, and I've never really had something like this before, but I've had it for basically the whole summer...

Hello, Zach, and welcome to Psych Central! Although none of us can actually diagnose here, I think you might be dealing with depression. How about seeing if you can get your folks to make an appointment with your family doctor and tell him/her what is happening?

Hey Zach, I totally know how you feel! I sleep all day, have to force myself to get up to go to work and then get home and go back to bed! Like Payne said, you may be experiencing some depression. You may also have a sleep disorder, like myself. Talk to your doctor about both possibilities.

Hey Zach, make sure you're eating well and drinking enough water! I once encountered something not so extreme and then realized I was just dehydrated all the time. I now drink plenty of water daily and feel great. Also make sure your eating habits are alright, eating healthy and at the right times.
