These dreams come and go and they absolutely make me feel sick. neither my mum or dad molested me in any way as a child but I used to have dreams of sex with my dad (this makes me feel sick even writing it) and last night I had a sexual dream about my mum and it took place in the house I grew up in as a child.
What do these dreams signify? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've had dreams like this too with family members. Were you or are you close with your parents? Do you desire more of a bond with them? (of course not in a sexual way, but it may mean you desire something more close with them).

Having sex with a parent does not necessarily mean having literally sex with the parent. This type of scene is simply the dream’s way of illustrating the fact of having a very close and intimate relationship with the parent. When this close relationship is pictured as a sexual encounter it implies that the closeness and intimacy of the relationship goes beyond the bounds of what is appropriate. Sometimes a child becomes much too involved in the adults personal life – sometimes even sharing in the parents own relationship issues, career issues, financial concerns etc.
The most recent dream could be suggesting that you have “gone back to” (as in the house I grew up in) perhaps needing or wanting a much too intimate relationship with the parent. It is also possible that the scene could be suggesting that you are demonstrating too much love for the opinions and beliefs inherited from your parents. It may be time to think more for yourself. The childhood home represents a state of mind or mental attitude that is governed by the beliefs of the parents for the protection of your innocence. But – an adult needs to face the hard truths of life and they usually move away from the original childhood home. |
