I occasionally do not want to sleep, and I can't really explain exactly why. It's like I wish the next day would just come sooner or something... Is this related to insomnia at all or is this something else?

Hello!

This doesn't sound related to insomnia -- insomnia is when you can't fall asleep (or wake up far too soon), regardless of your will to do so. It causes lots of trouble in your mood and functioning.

If you feel like not wanting to sleep sometimes causes you trouble, you could go visit your doctor about that!

I may just have to do that. I have an appointment very soon so I will try to remember to bring it up. Maybe adderall will help with it?!?

I have the same feeling when I'm hypomanic. But definitely not insomnia. Maybe some stress related. Do you ruminate at night about something? Can't shut off you brain (common). Or just have been so excited about each day, you can not wait to get going? Just curious.

Good luck!

I get that feeling regularly. My body is exhausted and needs physical rest. My mind is busy as a bee and I can't settle my thoughts enough to want to sleep. It is part of my bipolar disorder when I am hypomanic or manic.
