A couple of nights ago I had woken up because my phone was ringing. I knew my friends went out, so I figured it was one of them drunk dialing me (it was), but aside from that, I was crying.

When I was about 8 years old, my aunt Judy and I became very, very close. You could say she was my first best friend. She would teach me to sew and embroider and she would always make sure I was okay, but never gave me everything I wanted. She disciplined me while she was being a friend. About three years prior to our friendship blossoming, Judy was diagnosed with breast cancer, but first lung cancer. She passed away when I was in just starting third grade.

It took me a day or too to realize why I had woken up crying. I was dreaming of my aunt Judy. Her and mum were cooking in my kitchen and I was sitting on the floor watching them, listening to them tell stories and joke around. I didn't realize I had missed those days so much until that night. Dreams can be incredible and sometimes frightening, but this was pleasant for once
