I want to sleep but have trouble falling asleep. Even with my meds its still hard. Feel very lonely because there no one up this late. When I sleep I have bad dreams. I try listening to music or the sounds of rain and the ocean. My sleep/wake cycle is all messed up.

I too am having difficulties with insomnia tonight. The problem is compounded by the fact that I've been on vacation since the afternoon of December 20th and am suppose to return to my corporate gig today, January 2nd! Not sure how I am going to pull this one off today. The vacation has been great for the most part, but now it's like I am being punished by my body for taking a little time off from work.

My sleep cycle has been messed up too for the last 9 months. I wake
up thinking about people who've hurt me and wondering why? It's hard to block out the thoughts.

My pdoc, once told me, there's a sleep med out there, that helps with nightmares. Never reached that med.
Do you journal dreams, then self interpret? That helps me, when working through stuff. Once I start seeing their symbolism, then I stop having them, as I can sift through my subconscious mind.

I've been going through the absolute worst period of insomnia in my life these past few weeks (since December 18th). I have no idea what's causing it. I haven't been stressing out lately and up until then, my sleep cycle was perfectly fine and normal. I just woke up one morning and discovered I couldn't go back to sleep on my own. And since it occurred on a weekend, I spent most of 3 days wide awake before being able to see a doctor. I hate it.
