I have been off my meds, one of them being Sonata, for a few months now. I have been self medicating with alcohol since then at least 5 times a week. One of the reasons I have been drinking is because I simply can't sleep.
Anyhow, today I decided that I should not drink anymore. I went to the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist about sleep aids and I informed him of my substance abuse history. He said melatonin is a good choice for someone like me, but that some folks complain of being very foggy in the head the next morning and that I should experiment with it to find the right dosage. So my question is, has anyone had any experience with melatonin? I have a bottle of 3mg tablets (plus some sleepytime tea and raw honey). Would one of these be enough to help without the fogginess tomorrow, or should I cut it in half? Also, I apologize if asking this question is inappropriate. I am not asking where to obtain drugs or sleep aids. I am only asking if anyone else has ever used this stuff before. Thank you. |

Yes (in fact I am chewing on one right now as I prepare to go to sleep), overall it has worked fairly well, I did have one sleepless night recently but I am not sure what caused that.
