so, usually I have strange dreams any way but last nights one was different. I was at home, in my bedroom, I was viewing the dream in the first person where I was myself, usually I'm like watching over the dream. I came out of my bedroom, not sure what happened next but anyway skip forward, I'm coming up my stairs, I start to feel extremely dizzy, I fall over but I get up again, I feel so dizzy and scared now, I fall again and I start to black out but I'm fighting it, I almost completely black out and I feel like my body is on the floor but I'm rising up(like my ghost self is leaving my body there), if that makes sense. I get scared by this and fight it back to consciousness, I bang in the floor(it's just a thing we do in my house to tell who evers down stairs to come up) my mum comes up the stairs and I wake up.
Just wondering does the like blacking out connect to real life, like if you die in a dream you die in real life type thing( but idk if that's true) Thanks for reading |

Usually when I die in my dream thats when I shoot awake. I die all the time, you will be ok
![]() Some others may be better able to interpret the dream, usually most of what I am dreaming is directly related to my surroundings in my room. If I am dizzy or having trouble breathing, probably not breathing right or my face is in the pillow/under the blankets. When falling in a dream and I hit the ground usually wake up with knots in my stomache and on the floor of my room or in a weird position. Your mom coming up may of been the comfort/security? I am sure some others will chime in ![]() |

You are accending, leaving your old self behind. Your Mother represents your new self, the more mature nurturing person. Thus having a better connection with your mother.

I like many of the explanations here. I have had a somewhat similar dream and at the time, my relationship with my significant other was rather strained. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or if that could add to the discussion. I really like the way that Thunder Bow described the situation.

You were having a LUCID dream, which in turn led to a brief OBE. A "lucid dream" is one in which you are an observer, or spectator of the action...action which may include you. In other words, you may observe yourself. You are able to interpret the action, and sometimes derive some meaning from it. Sometimes you can control the action.
An OBE is an "out of body experience" which pretty much speaks for itself. We ALL have OBE's, but don't always remember them. Think of it as our soul or spirit "going for a walk and getting some fresh air". |

I mis-interpreted the original post. Upon re-reading, it seems that Jane102 usually is a lucid dreamer, but this particular dream was not, since she was "first person". Sorry for that, but it really doesn't change the meaning of the dream. You weren't dying....just aware of having an OBE and it frightened you.
Next time it happens just relax.....let it happen and enjoy the ride ;-) |
