Ive had a nightmare since childhood,
as far back as I can remember,

Im in what seems like a hospital,
and its my release date,

they tell me I have all the keys to the doors,
I just have to use them,

at the very first door I come to,
the first tooth falls out and I discover that my teeth
are the keys I need.

So I go door to door,
pulling my teeth,
unlocking the next,

and continuing on to the last door,
the one to outside,

where I don't have any teeth left,
and I have to start all over again.

Hi, KiddKaydii, and welcome to Psych Central! I've read that losing teeth is a fairly common dream theme. I used to dream about it, too.

I'm not sure about their being keys, but it's interesting that we lose teeth when we get to be a certain age--and then we grow new ones. So, maybe there's some level of growth that has to be reached to meet certain goals--and then new goals always come along.

Ah, the teeth. When I was 29/30 I had braces on my top teeth but needed an "anchor" across the roof of my mouth (kind of like an arch) connecting the two molars second from the back to hold them firm. I had a dream that my braces were like an old fashioned canning jar? http://antiques.lovetoknow.com/Antique_Canning_Jars and when I pulled that "top" bar down all the individual braces on each tooth were able to roll around on their bar and I panicked, not able to get them to line up in the right direction, facing my teeth so I could push the bar back up and lock them in place again

I think the most common meaning of teeth falling out is "change" http://www.dreamdictionary.org/common/teeth-dreams/ If I had your dream I would think I was looking for my next way forward, "growing up" as avlady suggests, looking for the key to the next move in my future but not liking any choices I perceive or being afraid I am "not enough" to succeed at what I want to do/be.

I have had tons of dreams where my teeth come lose and I pull them out 1 by 1,I was told this was due to my anxiety and was just showing me I was worrying to much, another recurring dream is needing the toilet only to run around trying to find a bathroom to use only to find a filthy dirty or broken unusable toilet,Ive never found out what that dream means.
