I don't remember most of my dreams the next day, but the dream I had last night has managed to stay with me. I was walking on a high stone bridge with an old man. He didn't appear to be someone I recognized but in the dream I had the feeling that he was my grandfather. He didn't see me, but I saw him. He looked out over the edge of the bridge to look out over the grassy valley the bridge overlooked.
Suddenly a gust of wind blew in from no where knocking him off the bridge. My POV shifted to where he fell, to the grass about 100ft. below. I was anticipating his death to be instantaneous, but it wasn't. He let out blood curdling screams as he slowly died. I wanted to help him, but it was as if I wasn't there, just observing. The dream ended before he was finally out of his misery so I didn't actually see him die. His screams and suffering seemed to go on for awhile.
I haven't watched anything violent on tv recently and the setting of the dream wasn't anywhere I've been to in real life. I'm about to move to the other side of the country and am anticipating changes in my life. Any ideas as to what this dream could be about? Thank you for your help!

That really is a frightening dream. Is your grandpa alive in real life? Maybe the dream is telling you to spend more time with your grandpa. The gust's of wind could be the spring of change. Seize the moment and be aware of changes in your life.

Perhaps you are leaving some patriarchal influence behind you.
Thanks for this!

Yes, both my grandpas are alive, I haven't seen either one of them in six months however. I will be seeing them next month when I move back to home state though.

Hmmm... I think that may make sense in context of my life. Since I'm preparing to move I have been considering taking a break from my current relationship. I've often felt like my boyfriend has been a patriarchal figure in my life, more so than my actual father. Perhaps contemplating breaking up could have manifested in the dream? Thanks for the input!
