More nights than others I just can't freaking sleep.
If I fall asleep at all it will be around 5 am.
Will sleep maybe 3 hours.
It's not mania. I have had this issue since I was preteen.

I had sleep issues for the longest time, up till 3 or 4 am, just not able to get to sleep, totally restless, my mind awake even though my body was exhausted. what I discovered it was was that my body was highly sensitive to caffeine. if I have any after 1, I will be up till 4 am. same goes for the B vitamins and ginseng in many of the vitamin waters. I just cant drink them in the afternoon unless I want to be up all night.

Amayastar, thanks for visiting PC. Sleep is an important part of the healthy mind. Not having it is very debilitating.

FIrst see a doctor if you are open to trying medicine.

If not medicine then here are some lifestyle changes that may help.
Do physical exercise, yoga, walking or physical work during the day.

Eat meals with low carbs and high protein. Avoid alcohol - it stimulates

Avoid television or computer or hand held use for a couple hours before going to bed

Don't drink fluids after 6 or 7pm

Take a warm shower

Get into a comfy clean bed in a warm room and listen to new age or quiet instrumental music.

Count the breaths 1 inhale 2 exhale 3 inhale 4 exhale
keep going slowing the breath down to 10. If lose count start at 1 no judgement.

You can do that sitting or laying down.

Write down all the thoughts that come into your mind

Try melatonin - it is available over the counter I believe and may have fewer after affects from sleeping medicine

Post at PC and let us know how you are doing.
