Years ago, after major surgery and hospitalization, my sleep cycle went berserk because they came into my room at all hours with the lights on etc. After being discharged my primary care doc would only give me melatonin because, said he, the others are addictive. Gradually I got okay but I wonder if it was the melatonin, it seemed so mild. What do you think?

I've developed over time a pattern of difficulties in getting my sleep. I started using melatonin about about a year ago and for me, a small dose of 3mg's works great every night. I much prefer using melatonin to anything else. I had tried Ambien and Trazadone years ago, both were horrid for me.

I tried melatonin but often felt "loggy" almost achy when I woke and almost always got dry mouth in the middle of the night. I get dry mouth with Aleve too, so I don't know what that is about but little things like that can turn me off to certain supplements/brands. I would try it again and see how you like its affects?
