I have this dream about stairs and I've had it at least 20 times. Sometimes it's the same staircase, but other times it's other staircases within the same building of my high school (I graduated in 2013 but I still often revisit my high school in my dreams).
Basically what happens is there's a rush of students going up the stairs – sometimes it's a steep incline and sometimes it's not – and I follow and begin to go up the stairs. I'm uneasy from the start but as I continue to approach the top of the staircase the uneasiness progresses to a crippling fear. So I go very slowly, and eventually I'm either the last one still on the steps or one of the last (sometimes there are people with me with the same struggle of getting up the steps). Eventually as I reach the last few steps, I'm physically unable to move. I look up and there are always people rooting for me, waiting for me to just climb the last few steps. I finally attempt to finish going up the steps and I always fall. I don't trip; I straight up fall backward, HARD, and land at the bottom of the steps. By this time, everyone else who was still on the stairs with me has succeeded and I'm still at the bottom of the steps. I'm all alone. I keep trying, and I keep falling down. This usually continues 2 or 3 times until I wake up. I think the most obvious interpretation here would be the fear of academic failure, but does anyone else have any ideas? |

This dream may relate to a situation in real life, where you are feeling left behind. You feel like your are falling down in life, as others pass you by. You feel that you are unable to move.
