For a long while, I've had very odd dreams on and off...

I am afraid to talk about them, mainly because I'm scared of people judging me.

But some of my dreams have been focused around a particular teacher at my college.
For example, last night, I dreamt that we were in some sort of computer room. This teacher was taking a register of people in my class, and they all had big heavy bags, like suitcases, and were finding spaces to sit down. It felt almost like when you go away on school trips, when you try and find a bed next to your friends. I grabbed a seat at 'the front' - next to the teacher's computer. We had a lesson, as normal. At the end of the lesson, I was coughing an awful lot (I have a cold at the moment) and this teacher said something about how others would have gone home by now if they had my cough. I grabbed a ring or something from one corner of the room, no idea why, and left.

Then I was walking through the outside area of my previous high school. I wasn't wearing any shoes or socks, didn't have a coat, and it was raining. My next class, I think, was in a separate building (like the temporary huts outside my college for when they were building a Maths block). I saw everyone going in, but then it was almost like, suddenly, a whirlpool or sinkhole opened up in front of the building, and the class managed to get out in time, but the sinkhole destroyed the building...

I am very confused about these dreams that seem to involve my teacher an awful lot. I was wondering if anyone has any insight? Thanks

In this dream you were taking a register of yourself. An assay of your self. A loss of a structure in your life. The teacher was you in this dream. You grabbed an idea from the corner of the room. You felt more exposed.
Thanks for this!

Can you say more about why you are concerned about being judged? What is there in these dream that people might judge?

Can you say something about your real-life relationship or associations with this teacher?
Thanks for this!

I'm scared of people judging me for dreaming about my teacher - from what I understand, or at least what I think, it can be seen as weird and creepy if you dream about your teachers...

This teacher has taught me for about 9/10 months. She has supported me in a lot of things, such as my panic attacks and severe anxiety. She even made a seating plan where I was sat right in front of the door in case I needed to leave. She has been supportive and flexible with deadlines, and has helped me with essays.

I've never heard of it being weird to dream about your teachers. To your dream self, any waking experience can be used in the dream. Clearly this teacher is a caring person and that has probably touched you. It's not surprising she appears in your dreams.

In the dream, when the teacher remarked that most people would have gone home if they had such a cough, was it more a caring remark (like noticing your suffering and/or admiring your stamina) or was it a more critical remark (like saying you "should" have gone home)?

I think it was more a caring remark, like you said, perhaps admiring my stamina or just acknowledging my suffering..

Okay, so it was a caring remark. I wonder if grabbing the ring represents your response to her caring remark. Are you aware of how you respond to her care? Does it simply feel lovely or is there any discomfort involved?

I agree with Thunder Bow that the sinkhole represents the effects of the anxiety and depression, that it speaks about the destructiveness of it and how it affects your life. Perhaps it affects the structure of your life. Are you suicidal ever? The class got out in time suggesting that the sinkhole doesn't threaten the lives of the class.

Sometimes it does feel lovely being on the receiving end of her care... But other times, I can get a little uncomfortable and awkward, because I'm not used to people being caring towards me, so I don't really know how to respond...

I am suicidal sometimes, yes...

It makes sense that it would be uncomfortable sometimes. You say in your sig that you are not on medication. Have you tried it before?

I have tried it before, yes. I've been on Sertraline, Fluoxetine and Quetiapine.
