First, let me greet everyone here, it's been a couple years since I was here, but I remember Thunder Bow fondly (and all the rest). Submitting a dream I had this morning for interpretation:

Dream, morning of April 23, 2015

For a long time (and I don't remember much of this) I'm in various places in a world that reminds me of Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones. This world is nearing tragedy, war I think. Then I am aware this is a story by an author, and he feels that he needs to come into his world and give names to each creature and place in order to save it. He does, and I am there too. He takes a camera to photograph each country in the world and show the photographs to people in other countries in order to help forge a bond. He hands me the camera and I take it apart and notice some complicated structure that's very hard to explain verbally, but the main thing is that part of the lens system is dirty or scratched. I wipe it with my finger and observe that it feels like it's just dirt and that the lens can be cleaned.

Then this author says that while he is gone traveling the world, he needs me to care for his cats, to feed them several times per day. He says, “Don't feed after 4 pm, otherwise they'll be eating too much.” Then I go up and down a block in a town that looks like my childhood town and feed all the dogs (yes, dogs, not cats). I feed them raw ground turkey and raw ground beef.

Then I'm in my childhood home and I notice a gecko. I have a memory of getting this gecko as a pet years ago, but neglecting it all this time. Apparently it's been surviving on scraps of food it gets off the floor. I feel grief that I neglected it, and I reach out to pet it. I hope that it will be friendly. Then it becomes a little scary, seems bigger, and opens its mouth which has lots of sharp teeth. But I still reach out to pet it and it doesn't bite me or flinch away.

Ya'at'eeh !

The Author is you introducing you to yourself. You have done some traveling I see. You know you can see things clearly after cleaning the lens. There is complex thinking behind the lens.

You are taking care of yourself when feeding the dogs. You no longer neglect yourself any more, when petting the Gecko. This is a part of you that may have a bite to it. These are dreams of you accepting yourself.

Yes, Thunder Bow, I think you are right that there is a lot of self-acceptance here, and consciousness. I discussed this dream with my therapist today, who has a Jungian influence, and he said the "Author of this world" seems a lot like the Self (with a capital S) which is a Jungian concept for the impulse in the psyche to move toward wholeness. There's integration, getting the different countries to accept each other. Also the image of feeding the animals definitely means that the Author (God or Self) is asking me to care for myself better both in what I feed myself emotionally and in actual food (both need some improvement). I had this dream after a day of significant positive events and I have a lot of positive feeling attached to this dream.

Hi CANDC,
Thanks for posting those links, but they don't work. Can you help me find the original articles?
Thanks,
Mike
