Okay so for a while now i have had this terrible night experience.
I will be asleep and its like my brain is being taken over, my whole body freezes and won't move, I'm awake but i can't open my eyes, shout, or anything its like being paralysed. Then two images shoot into my head and its like unless i pick the right one my body won't unfreeze. it is the scariest thing in the world, and i feel so stupid mentioning it but i just don't know what to do. Its made me fear going to sleep. What is wrong with me??

I understand that it was scary. I didn't understand well: was it a dream or were you really awake? If it's only a dream, try not to worry, tonight it will go better, especially if you relax. If you were awake, maybe you could see a neurologist.

Sleep paralysis is common. It can be a natural part of sleep. Anxiety is causing you to wake up before your body is fully awake.

Happens to me all the time. I find that sleeping on my back almost guarantees it will happen. Sometimes my eyes are shut, sometime they are open and when they are open I see terrifying things. Don't really know what causes sleep paralysis. Try to avoid sleeping on your back and try not to focus on your breathing.
