I've been noticing something happening when I feel too tired to sleep. When I start dozing off it feels like my brain is shutting down faster than my respiratory making it feel like I can't breathe. It doesn't happen when I'm not as tired though. I don't know what's happening or why is it happening. It's not sleep paralysis that's for sure.

I would say talk to your doctor and see if it warrants being tested for sleep apnea.
