I suffer from night terrors, nightmares and have lucid dreams. I have had them since I was a child often waking in an anxious state and sweating/crying etc.
I seem to get them more when I have been taking diazepam (for my anxiety).
I am currently taking zopiclone 7.5mg every night to get me to sleep and also mirtazapine to keep me asleep so I don't wake up in my nightmare.
Anyone else have similar?

Hello Happy pills: I have not had any experiences with the medications you're taking. At one time, I took Trazadone for sleep because my SNRI kept me awake. I'm no longer on any med's.

I am an older person. And, as an older person, I do often have some difficulty sleeping, as many older people do. As a result, it has become my practice to do walking meditation. In the darkness of the late night, I will often walk mindfully throughout the house, focusing gentle attention on my feet & legs, while I allow thoughts to come-&-go as they will...

I have frequent nightmares. Don't know if it is the pills i take, or just that I internalize stress and it comes out at night.

Anxiety affects ones sleep, as do the medications.

I woke up last night wet through with sweat I don't know if its the meds or because it was really warm here in the UK yesterday. I know I dreamt about smoking cigarettes an stopping breathing, the funny thing is I have never smoked anything ever in my life

That dream may mean you are taking in something that you need to get off your chest, in real life.
