Dead dad, dead boss, but dream they are alive

So, this is really weird for me. My dad has been dead 21 years and last night was the first time that I've ever dreamt that he was still alive and had just been hiding.

It's hard to explain just how weird it was for me.

I had a boss die nearly five years back who I have dreamt about often really being alive and was just "away" or "hiding", but never my dad.

I don't know what information is needed, but I am curious to know why I've had such dreams. Is this an indication of unresolved issues? I realize this isn't an exact science of any sort, but I'm curious to know people's thoughts.

I have dreams about a deceased brother who has been gone 30 years. I dream about him every couple of months. The dreams are similar, but can vary a little. I have not figured out why I dream about him like this. I don't find the dreams disturbing at all. I also dream about other people I've known who have passed. I do not believe in the dead visiting us. I think it's just our brains dredging up old memories plus making an interesting story line.

ialso dream of dead people every night. I'm 54 yrs old, and have seen slot of people pass, so i know alot of them. sometimes they are good dreams and sometimes they are nightmares. i really don't know why either.

For years, when someone I knew would die, I would inevitably have a dream soon after that I saw them somewhere, they were alive, that I had been mistaken about their death.

Oddly, this did not happen when my brother, father, and mother died.
But, they are in and out of dreams quite alive...

I remember once or twice I had a dream about my parents after they died. In the dream it was like they were still alive and still actively involved in things.
