Hi,

I'm Avalen and I can't fall asleep. Unless I'm drunk or stay up until at least beyond three in the morning. I have loads of dreams and I've had several recurring dreams or nightmares through the years.

The most prominent(ones that have persisted for more than three years) have been a dream where I am walking through an empty white space, searching for something, something I can't find, until suddenly a messy, random, chaotic pile of chairs appears under me out of nowhere, I trip over it, and fall over. The moment I hit the ground I wake up. The second long-term recurring nightmare(recurring since early childhood or almost twenty years) has me running through the hallway of the second floor(1st floor for Britons) of my childhood home until I leap from the top of our stairs and "fly" in slow-motion for a while until I see the electrical junction that was in our stairway before the renovation of our house almost ten years ago and hit our stairs and wake up.

If you can make sense of that explanation in a satisfactory manner you'll earn my true appreciation(which isn't easy to get). Feel free to ask further questions if you want.

Your dreams may be about real life obsticals. You cant seem to get off the ground because of them.

Try writing in a journal every time you have these dreams, and also focus on the stress you may have dealt with that day. Also, look up something called Image Rehearsal Therapy, or IRT. A Psychologist can possibly help you with this as well. IRT can help you deal with reoccurring nightmares.

It is unfortunate you have to be intoxicated to fall asleep, as this keeps you from sleeping as well as you should. Do you suffer from Anxiety?
