Most of the dreams that I have and remember are in the setting of my hometown and either associated with high school or I feel like I'm of high school age. It's like nothing else that happened in my life after that matters to my subconscious.

I'm 27 years old.

Does this mean that my subconscious mind can't seem to grow up or out of the phase?

In real life you feel like you are of high school age. Dreams are all about our feelings. You may have grown up, but you just feel young, which is a good thing.

I graduated from HS 40 years ago. I dream about twice a month about it. There are a few different scenarios, but the same theme. I have tried to figure out why my mind keeps going back there. I have no unfinished business or wish to be back there, or even the town. Perhaps it's our mind's way of keeping us young?

Sometimes I do feel like I'm living in the past and haven't grown up much since then
