Around the age of five or six I had an out of body experience. I won't call it a dream because it was too real and vivid to labeled as such. I floated above my physical body and saw an old lady in a rocking chair next to my bed watching me as she rocked. I was so frightened I tried to scream out to my mom but nothing came out. When I finally came to I yelled out to her. She wasn't very supportive and told me to go back to sleep.

These are common when you're young because you're more in touch with your inner self. With practice you can experience this again. It's nothing to fear. Just a part of you. You may also find you are more sensitive you your environment and positive and negative energy around you. Just depends on how open you have remained over the years.

No matter how small, a positive change deserves to be celebrated!

Yes, I did have an out of body experience in my adolescence. So vivid and real. I will never forget it. I was at church camp, praying in my bunk, when my spirit raised up out of my body. I felt a warm glow, and a presence of some sort at the lower left of my bed. I do still feel it was real, but I've never been able to regain anything near that. The few people I have told about this dismiss it as delusion, so I don't talk about it to anyone. I do believe you when you say you had this experience.

I understand how scarry that must have been for you.
Sorry for the late response. I'm still having trouble figuring this site out and how to navigate it.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the late response. I haven't mentioned my experience to too many people either. I can relate to you on the aspect as others viewing you as delusioned. I whole-heartedly believe what we experienced was one in the same.

I think you're on to something. I was and still am an HSP. There's even a movie on it. I've learned to protect myself from occurances that effect my emotional state. News is a big one. I can tell when someone is very negative....I've learned to distance myself from that type.

I'm more of the persuasion that out of body experiences are just a kind of dream for the most part but I've had a few experiences that would qualify. I've had about three or four, most of them were pretty uneventful. I was mostly just walking around my house as a ghost walking through things. I was struck by the lack of angels, demons, spirits, etc. that mystics always describe seeing during these experiences. One was especially weird though. After leaving my body I somehow willed myself back in time to my freshman year of high school and possessed my body. I went on to talk to someone in the hall. (I was painfully shy back then, so that would have been a huge accomplishment.) Again, I have no reason to believe these are real experiences but I have friends who disagree.

Sorry to double post but the timing is funny, the night after I posted that I had another out of body experience and two lucid dreams.
