Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is in the right section but considering it is a sleep issue, I decided to post it here and hope for the best.

For the last several weeks, I've been having really, really weird dreams. And by that, I mean scary. They're affecting the quality of my sleep and I wake up feeling quite scared, anxious, and always sweaty.

My question is, could it be some weird side effect of the medication I'm on - which is Zoloft - or could it be something else?

Any help given would be appreciated.
Hugs from:
Pikku Myy
Thanks for this!

I take Prazosin to stop night terror. Not sure it is the same thing but there are meds to help calm it. I do not take Zoloft so that is a great question for the Doc. Take care BlueNinja!

I took zoloft for years and had no problems with it. It affects everyone differently tho. It could be the cause of your bad dreams. I started a new med fairly recently and I have vivid, active dreams. I would suggest you give it more time to see if the effect fades, or if it is really disturbing to you, ask your doc to give you something else.

I believe that I had the same symptoms on zoloft, but I don't quite remember because I was on Zoloft two months before my hospitalization. But it sounds right to me.

Check with the doctor to see if Zoloft amplifies anxiety driven dreams.

Yes, it's a reported side affect. I've had some weird vivid dreams with it too.

If you take your med in the evening maybe switch to a morning dose? That helped me.
