In the past two months i have had 3 vivid and colored hullicinantions upon waking in the night. They have scared me.
I have had more leading up to it and afterwards but I had fallen asleep straight away and therefore not remembered them clearly, which do not effect me.

When the vivid ones have happened, I realise I wake suddenly and open my eyes right away to see a hullicintion right away. Then, I put on a light or shine a light on it and its completley gone. I am able to move during and I have jumped out of bed/shouted and sworn during. I am very frightened during and heart races. I have fallen back asleep easily after but have remembered them clearly.

The hulliciantions have been purely visual and include 1-2 bright glowing colours including a mooving giant purple catepillar; a emerald green envelope on the wall and a orange round object on the floor with a face. Colors are almost glowing. No sounds or smell or toutch.

I have had hulliciantions upon falling asleep for around 2 years such as seeing giant spiders and human forms etc. I have also had the one where I'm falling and I wake suddenly.

These ones upon waking are more concerning, especialy as they are vividly coloured and different to the ones I had upon sleeping.

Can anyone tell me what this could be? What exactly is causing these new ones in paticular to happen? Its all good to say its a type of hullicianation but I want to know why.

I can only think of 2 or three things that it may be. I take 10mg amitriptalyne before bed and have done for about 1.5 years. I have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue which is a mystery, which I've had for about 4 years.

I'm not looking to visit the dr for a while as we are talking about hulliciantions here and its a concerning subject that may be taken the wrong way as I am not having any daytime/awake hulliciantions at all.

I want to stop these ones as they are scary and welcome ideas.

Thanks

The timeline you give for starting the med and the beginning of hallucinations is really close. Is it possible that the hallucinations may have actually started after starting the med? Even though hallucinations are not listed as a side effect, sometimes an undocumented/previously unseen side effect can occur in certain people.
