Hi,
If you "can't sleep, what are you thinking about? What is keeping you awke?
If you nap during the day, you might get enough sleep to keep you from dropping off at night.
If you work or study during the day, some negative thoughts may keep you from dropping ff to sleep. If it is so, try to change the subject of your thoughts to something trivial, or to pleasant past experiences.
Thanks for this!

That's something i've seriously considered, Hobbit. Just don't want to be dependent, as ridiculous as it sounds.

Hi,
What woke you up? If you remember the dreamdream that woke you it may give a clue to what your problem is. If you examine your thoughts that happen after you woke up, that may give aclue to your problem.
What makes you anxious?
Thanks for this!

Anxiety has kept me up in the past as well. I know how horrible that feels. Propranolol has helped me tremendously. It’s a medication that can be taken as needed. I’ve been on it for a few years now and don’t feel that I’m dependent on it at all.

Is there anything at all that helps you with your anxiety? Breathing techniques, reading, writing, hot bath/shower…etc
Thanks for this!

But as i go into a deep sleep cycle, i find myself waking up out of a sound sleep and sometimes can't go back. I have a sleep monitor app on my phone. Shows sleep cycles are normal, just really short.

Weird

Felt bad again early this morning....up at 2:30am with only two hours sleep. Woke up with anxiety and had it all morning. Felt better by 8:30am. I feel like I'm not supposed to feel good. So i'm getting myself all worked up just to feel crappy all over again. Ugh

Sorry to hear it. I understand about not wanting to be dependent. Try looking into Buspar. It's a non-benzo medication and is not addictive. I hope this helps... good luck!
