At times I will wake up feeling extreme fear. Like, I will have this sense of impending doom, like I am in danger of some sort. Sometimes I'll wake up thinking I'm having a heart attack or for some reason, I just am not breathing correctly. For that part, I know that has something to do with sleep apnea. But other things, such as waking up with extreme fear, I'm not sure if it is also related to sleep apnea or just simply some form of night terror. For example, I will wake up thinking someone or something is in the room with me and I will actually quickly get out of bed, ready to bolt out of my room before realizing there is nothing there.
Other times I may fear that something, like a light fixture or something else will fall on me and kill me if I walk by it or under it. And once I woke up to the sight of a blue line of light pointed directly at me. For some reason, I became extremely fearful that it would kill me. I saw a blinding flash and I quickly got down on the floor beside my bed and right at that moment, heard an explosive sound. I thought it was an actual explosion taking place. But then I realized there was nothing wrong. I looked out my window and the weather was fine so I knew there was no lightning or thunder. So I don't know what I saw or heard. So I've always wondered if all of these events are sleep apnea related or if some of it is just simply random night terrors. Anyone else experience these kinds of fearful events? Just curious.
