I have new meds and one of the side effects is that I can't stay awake all day. Right now I take a 45-minute nap after lunch (or sometimes in the late afternoon if I have other commitments after lunch, but then around tea-time I'm beat, fall asleep sitting up every few minutes and really have to have a nap) and that gets me through the day, but school starts again in a week.. which means I have to get up earlier (depending on my scheduled lessons, so not sure how early yet) and have to stay awake all day at school. And pay attention, of course. How on earth am I going to manage that?
I don't want to quit the meds because they're very promising. I go to bed fairly early in the evening (around 20:30) so going to bed even earlier isn't really a solution either. Caffeine doesn't really help either. |

You may want to see your doctor about alternatives. Tell him of this problem.

A pdoc might want to try giving you a stimulant drug in the daytime. I was on one (ritalin) some years back, but it made my face feel tense and had my mind going in overdrive.
That is a tough problem when you have classes. Some classes can be hard enough to stay awake in. |

Well, that was bum. Doctor proposed maybe I could go home during lunch break and have a nap at home. (not possible for various reasons)

I feel for you. My meds make it hard for me to avoid napping during the day. If I have something planned, it'd a problem. It's good that you go to bed early. I'm sorry, I wish I had a good suggestion for you.
